HOW MANY BOOKS? 1 every 7 SECONDS!!!!
It's official. The SFS community really love their books! We kind of thought this was the case, but, according to our data from the day, 1 book was sold or exchanged every seven seconds (between 11 and 230pm). When it was time to pack up for the day, parent volunteers were still helping kids search for another Geronimo Stilton book! A huge thank you to everyone who donated books for the fair (over 2000 books were received). It was an incredibly popular event, raising $1,055,000w. Please store up your books for the next great big book swap, expected sometime in Spring.
HAND WRITTEN THANK YOU NOTES SENT TO OUR AWESOME HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Last week's IF was only possible thanks to the incredible effort made by our High School students. They ran free activities for all fair attendees, covering activities such as finger nail painting, face painting, raw egg toss, nerf gun, hula hoop, basketball shoot out and, what proved to be incredibly popular, a dunking machine!
We hear that the High School students have received some hand written thank-you notes from students who had a great day out on the field.
A huge thank you also to the Middle School students who were fantastic at taking shifts at the three entrance booths on the day. The day could not have happened without your assistance.
INTERNATIONAL FAIR: THANK-YOU!
Hard to believe that this year's International Fair has come and gone already. The day was spectacular. Unbelievable food (we believe the record from one parent is four lunches all by himself!!), great activities provided by our sensational High School students and fantastic talent on display on the main stage throughout the day. Thank-you so very much for coming along and supporting the PTA. More details to follow with money raised, amount of hot dogs eaten and number of nails painted!! In the meantime, enjoy the photos.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL
Wow! What a start to the 2016-17 school year! The first PTA hosted event for the year: the hotly anticipated Ice Cream Social - has set the tone for what will undoubtedly be a fantastic year of fun and friendship! It was great to see so many parents, grandparents, children, faculty and administration, (more than 400 in fact - our biggest year yet), enjoying the sunshine, the ice cream, lemonade and iced coffee, the newly renovated Elementary School playground and, for some, their super soakers! Huge thank-you to everyone who helped with the event. This is just a taste of what is to come!
